Cameraman Shot by Police at Occupy Oakland Protest While Filming (VIDEO)

Holy eff-nugget. This is one of the most clear breaches of rights I’ve seen yet. There’s no reason for this happening. I’ve seen a lot of these videos the past few weeks, but this is the first one that in no way, shape, or form can be misconstrued as anything other than police misconduct. The scary thing is you can see the officer raise his rifle and follow the photographer as he aims. If anything, the dude was moving out of the way.

CplHickz of Reddit called the Oakland Mayor’s office and this was their response regarding the issue of the man getting shot while filming the police line in Oakland.

Seriously, this is out of control. It’s simply a matter of time before someone is killed.

While filming a police line at Occupy Oakland after midnight on Nov. 3 following the Nov. 2 general strike, an officer opens fire and shoots me with a rubber bullet. I was standing well back. There was no violence or confrontations of any kind underway. At 0:31 seconds you can see a tall officer in the front raise his weapon and then fire. This is the full clip of the incident.
