86-Year-Old Woman Drives Car Into Pool All Caught On CCTV (VIDEO)

I really think the elderly should start getting tested …they’re just as dangerous behind the wheel as newly licensed teens. My grandfather was driving at 82 when he was legally blind. When I’d be riding with him, he’d say “is that light green?”… We went through a bank drive through once, pulled up to the ATM, and he herd the teller in the window talking to the car that pulled up in the lane over. He thought the ATM was talking to him, so he started yelling at it and mashing buttons looking for an intercom. Got some laughs out of that. He kept binoculars in the glove box if he needed to pull over to read a sign. He called me on a road trip once asking for directions, I asked him where he was and he asked somebody and he said “Compton”. I said “get outta there!”.

A cautious hero slowly removed his shoes and valuables before casually wading into a swimming pool to rescue his elderly neighbor, after she sent her car plummeting into the water. CCTV footage shows 86-year-old Mary Lee Fine’s sedan smash through a metal pool fence and into the pool at her retirement home in Austin, Texas, Fox News reports. “In pushing myself to get over I either hit the key or the gear shift, I don’t know what happened, but the car backed up — wooo whoom,” she said. Mrs Fine’s car started filling with water and she can be seen in the video panicking as she is unable to get out. A lawn chair that was knocked into the pool in the collision may have saved her from drowning, propping the car up and preventing it from submerging completely. The video shows her neighbor calmly walking to her rescue and wading in the pool slowly to rescue her. Mrs Fine has vowed to take a taxi next time she needs to go shopping.
